|Staying with us|
We offer a private place to stay that is exclusively reserved for visitors who make bookings with us.
There is no ‘public’ restaurant, and all meals and activities are inclusive under the stay. Similar with walking; travellers will not be able to participate in any Tree Tops ‘activities’ without prior reservation.

|Announcement from the management
We would like to take the opportunity to announce a clarification regarding local area walks we offer.
The primary product offered by the Tree Tops Jungle team is a ‘living in the wilderness experience’. As a client you are paying for the stay with us, not for activities.
We have been offering these walks for more than a decade. There is no change or difference; however we have not formulated the following before in an explicit way:
|Duration Of Stay|
|It is recommended to make the priority to spend a few days with us. Minimum 2 to 4 nights is ideal, allowing sufficient time to adjust to the quiet lifestyle and natural surroundings.
|We are in a tropical climate, and things must be done according to this environment. The siesta time from 12 noon until after 3.30 or 4 pm is essential. Please take this factor in to your mind when considering your expectations. You’re arriving in the hot time of the day. Come early to enjoy our place, more than with the intention or hope to quickly start on an excursion, unless you have made a booking of a 4WD land rover tour…
As soon as the sun goes down behind the mountains 5 pm the temperature sinks and evenings and nights are considerably cooler than the days. We are deep inside the island, far from the coast, and there can be more than 10 degrees difference between day and night temperatures.
|November and December:
Heavy monsoonal showers expected in certain days.
End of December until mid May:
Generally pleasant, sunny and dry with an occasional afternoon shower. January id quite mild, often ith light rain.
Mid March and April is a hot season in the whole island.
Mid May till mid October:
Dry season. Often quite windy. During June-July a larger concentration of elephants appears. They tend to stay until the beginning of October.
|What To Bring|
|Note about families / stay with children|
|Stays with children below the age of 10 years are generally not recommended. Minimum age for walking in the jungle is 18 years.
Supervision and alertness are required at all times. You must be with your children and be attentive. It is the wrong place to find out that you ‘Don’t know’ where they are. The Tree Tops team is alert, but parents have the utmost responsibility of their children.
Rates for children are always based on case to case quotation. Generally 50% reduction for children below 18 years, staying with parents. However, in every case we will discuss if the lodge stay is a suitable choice for your particular interests as a family and make a quote based on requirements.
Contact us for questions regarding stays with children. For some families it might be a great and special experience – for others it might be the wrong place. We try to make a filter here in order to help everybody to make the best choice. Tree Tops Jungle Lodge is not an 'Average Place to Stay'. It is a camp and not at all developed with any standard hotel like 'child friendly' facilities, activities, entertainment or equipment. There are not much activities for children.
|Expectations to a 1-night stay
Primarily we are an accommodation place, however a special one. In case time or budget is limited and you want to stay for 1 night only, you are most welcome as long as you meet up with balanced expectations.
With a one night stay it is likely that time spent on walks will be very limited since only late afternoon time is available for a walk. A short morning walk may be possible as well. A full day walk is not available and our main walking time between breakfast and lunch would be missed.
Afternoon walks inside the forest are at our discretion and generally we would spend less walking time in the forest in the afternoon due to the movement of wildlife.
Our advice is to come and enjoy the camp as a place to stay. Please focus mainly on the stay and meet up with very limited expectations when it comes to walks. We are almost unable to satisfy a visitor hoping to make it all in one afternoon and we are also unable to offer early arrival and late check out while designing a compressed ‘1 night schedule’, it is not manageable.
