What To Bring On Safari
Year Round Check List
- For inspiration only, few people would need all the stuff …
- Colours – clothes should be neutral (dark, brown, green, beige, khaki)
- We recommend cotton. Long sleeves and trousers will protect from both sun and insects
- Fleece, sweater or light jacket for morning transfers
- Cap, or hat – broad-brimmed for protection against the sun
- Sunblock, insect repellent and lip salve
- Flip flops – practical and comfortable
- Well fitting closed shoes and socks for walking
- Head torch – handy in the evenings
- Binoculars – each person should have their own so as not to miss out on any sightings
- A light sarong has a multitude of uses. It is a good camera dust cover and ideal for covering your body for morning/afternoon sun in the jeep
- Eye drops if sensitive to dust. Sunglasses can help cover for dust
- Scarf to cover mouth and nose for dust when required
- Camera with a minimum 200mm lens and wide angle for landscape. Spare batteries, memory sticks, and the correct charging apparatus
- Bean bag for camera support
- Rain gear. Light, compact jacket for a rainy day, or rain poncho
